Strive For Excellence In The Midst Of Constraints--Hon. Oppong Nkrumah To GTV



The Minister for Information and MP for Ofoase Ayirebi, Honourable Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has encouraged the technical and production crew of Ghana Television to give their best
shot of Ghana in spite of the station’s logistical constraints.

He reminded them of their critical role in promoting Ghana’s democracy as state broadcasters.

“The channel through which we communicate to the people is through you. You have a critical role and if you don’t do your work well so that we are able to communicate and get feedback and work in the interest of the people, we might as well forget this whole democracy”, he emphasized.

He encouraged them to undertake engagements that would build public confidence in state actors and also motivate the citizens to want to discharge their responsibilities to the state.

He admonished the crew to adopt a positive attitude to work to enable them excel in whatever field of endeavor they have chosen.

Hon. Oppong Nkrumah made these admonishments when he met the technical and production crew of Ghana Television to familiarize with them.
The Minister encouraged the team to be innovative and rise up to the competition in the media space to ensure no competitor beats them to it.

“So all am saying is that, people can beat you to the competition if you are not thinking and getting sharp”, he added.

He assured the crew of his support to ensure the station strives for excellence and deliver the best shots that meet international standards.
On her part, Deputy Minister for Information, Hon. Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Adjei reiterated the need for the station to stand out among the lot.
She re-echoed the need for them to aspire for excellence and encouraged them to strive to achieve that no matter the odds.

The Head of the OB crew, Perry T.K. Nartey who was excited about the engagement described it as unprecedented. He indicated that it was the first time the sector minister has had an engagement with the OB section.

He commended the minister and pledged on behalf of his colleagues to do their best within the challenges they are confronted with as a station.
