The 8th edition of the Foklex Media Awards came off over the weekend on Saturday 13th April,2019 at the National Theatre, Accra which saw many industry players in the media picking up deserving awards. Among the awardees on that faithful night was Rockson Adjei-Yeboah of Kumasi's giant Fox 97.9 fm wining the best sports show host of the year,Ashanti Region. Papa Rock as affectionately called was in one of the tightest categories since Ashanti Region is known for great talents when it comes to sports shows. In the category was defending champion Summer of Angel fm,Kanu(Otec fm),Kwaku Ahenkorah (Sikka fm),Benghazi (Ultimate fm) and a few others. At the end of it all, Rockson came out victor with a whooping votes of 3,424. The auditorium was set ablaze when the proud host of the 'Nationwide Sports Show' Rockson Adjei-Yeboah was mentioned to have won his category. The Akufo Addo Government has for the past 2 years been embarking on rigorous transformation of Ghana’s sporting ecosystem. A key priority on this agenda has been an auditing and subsequently rehabilitation of Ghana’s Sporting Infrastructure. Government is also constructing 10 multi-purpose youth centers with state-of-the-art sporting facilities across the country. The Ministry of Youth and Sports led by Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah has taken the notch higher by inaugurating a National Sports Policy Review Committee to review all existing sporting policies in Ghana, to organize a forum for all relevant stakeholders to discuss and collate ideas on how best sporting activities can be improved among  several other factors. I look forward to working with other members of the Committee as we rebuild and expand our sport ecosystem.
