The Minister of Finance Ken Ofori-Atta is expected to present the Budget Statement and Economic Policy of the government for the year 2019 to Parliament on Thursday 15th
November 2018 for consideration by the House.

IMPORTANT POINTS TO WATCH OUT FOR IN THE BUDGET.

•Programs aimed at supporting the government’s industrialization agenda and infrastructure projects.

•Programs that would help improve the environment for the growth of businesses.

•It may not be tied to IMF targets and conditionalities. This is because it would be the first post-IMF budget since the NPP government assumed office.

The Ministry of Trade and Industry has being directed by the Economic Management Team (EMT) to immediately halt the January 1, 2019 single window system takeover by CUPIA of Korea Customs Service and Ghana Link Network Service Limited. The decision, which was taken on December 18, 2018 and communicated to the ministries of Trade and Finance, is to ensure that issues regarding the takeover of operations at the country's ports are addressed.
