GFZA HOSTS AFZO 2018 TRAINING WORKSHOP


President Akufo-Addo's appointee; Mr. Michael Okyere Baafi has seemed to outperform than what we expected he could achieve.





His excellent performance is clearly evident in the heightened performance in the country's export just within less than two years.


Also, it is instructive to note that under able leadership of Mr. Michael Okyere Baafi ;

1.Companies operating under the Ghana Free zones regime exported goods valued at US$1.04 billion in the first nine months of this year, as against their total imports of US$113.1 million within the same period.



2. 11,948 Ghanaians, including 4,452 females, were employed by Free zones companies within the period.

TRAINING WORKSHOP

The Africa Free Zone Organization (AFZO) in collaboration with the Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA) organized a training workshop with the objective of supporting its members in promoting good governance and deploy best practices in the development of African Economic Zones and Free Zones.
The workshop covered relevant topics related to investment and Industrial development in Africa.
It also highlighted the role of Economic Zones and Free Zones as key instruments for FDI Attractiveness and industrial development and emphasized the need for Aftercare, Facility Management and Security flow Management within the Economic Zones and Free Zones.
Special guest of honor, the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Honorable Carlos Ahenkorah spoke about the ambition of government to set up one industrial park in all 10 regions to drive industrialization to boost the economy.
