Full Speech: Hon Ali Maiga At The 62nd Independence Celebration At Nkrankwanta

Nana Chairman, Nana Agyei Baffour Ekumbi ll,  (Ankobea Dompemhene and chief of Nkrankwanta), Nana Ankobea Hemaa, District chief executive, presiding member and Yaakrom Assemblyman, former DCE, former presiding member, Assembly members, police Commander, Headmaster Nkrankwanta SHS, pastors, Imams, Teachers, Workers, brothers
and sisters, party Executives, NPP/NDC.
First of all, happy 62nd independence day.

Before I proceed, I want the organizers, as a matter of urgency ensure that, anytime we are gathered here, the children are provided with canopies. We cannot continue to sit under canopies whiles the children stand in the scorching sun. Next year, when it happens this way, we would be tempted to move into the sun and give the canopies to the children.

Let me thank the organizers of this year's independence day celebration, the Brass Band and all persons gathered here.

Nana, development of Ghana and our constituency do not depend on only few individuals but all of us. But, our actions, the way we impede the sustainability of our natural resources, retards the development of our mother Ghana.

Last year, I travelled to Iran and   there, everybody thinks of building Iran but not their families and friends. In our case it is not like that.

Nana Chairman, I had planned to do more infrastructure but, for example, when you go to the SHS, all the buildings  started by the  erstwhile mahama administration, not a dime was paid. Even the contractor who built the KG block at RC primary Nkrankwanta, has sent me to court over his money.

I cannot leave the works that have been started behind, I have to continue and complete them. All the contractors at the SHS are back to site.
