Chief Of Staff's Office Donates To Jamasi School For The Deaf


The  Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Osei Opare, has called for support for the disadvantaged in society to help them live happy lives.
This statement was made after donations were made to some mental homes, orphanages and special schools across the country during the festive season.

This gesture according to the political affairs director at the office of the Chief of Staff, Frank Asiedu Bekoe, is aimed at reducing the challenges such institutions face and to put smiles on the faces of the less privileged in the society.
He added that the Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Osei Opare, with her development background sees a great need to support the vulnerable.

“The Chief of Staff has a development background. She has worked with ActionAid, SNV, she has taught as a lecturer at the University of Ghana and she feels there is a need for society to support the challenged and the vulnerable ones like she has been doing. She has been offering a lot of support to our brothers and sisters who are challenged in one way or the other in our society.”

“This Christmas and New Year, we have embarked on some donations to support the mentally challenged, the visually impaired, orphanages and all that. We have been to the Accra Psychiatric Hospital, Akropong School for the visually impaired. We went to an orphanage in Kwamang. The orphanage has about 85 children. That orphanage is not known like the Osu Children’s home and all the big ones you can think of.”

Speaking to Citi News after a donation to the Jamasi School for the Deaf on New Year’s Day, Mr. Asiedu Bekoe called on all stakeholders in the developmental agenda to support the disadvantaged in society.

“We need to support them. Their conditions are not the best so as stakeholders in the developmental agenda, there is a need to support such persons.”
