Corruption Perception Index Improves

The Ghana chapter of transparency international has released Ghana’s score on the Global corruption perceptions index. Ghana’s score has improved, meaning the Government has done extremely well in deterring public sector corruption.

This is the first improved score after three years of consistent decline.

This attests to the fact that the Akufo- Addo regime is up to task in the fight against corruption and the fruits are beginning to show.

Government views the marginal increase in the score as an indication of work in progress, and we can all agree that governance is a continuous process.

The improved performance is largely attributed to the following: introduction of the Paperless Port Operations, the Integrated E-lmmigration, E-Procurement, E-Passport, the establishment of the Office of the Special Prosecutor and the general liberalized media environment that have positively affected Ghana's outlook.

The Government will guard against complacency, and expects Ghanaians to support the policies and interventions that support and strengthen institutions, vested with powers to ensure equity in our public sector.
