Police Officer On-Duty Killed By Overspeeding Driver

A Police officer on duty was crushed to death on Thursday morning by a speeding vehicle at Kubease , near Ejisu in the Ashanti Region.

Lance Corporal John Andoh who is stationed at the Ejisu Police Command was knocked down by the speeding driver of an unspecified vehicle with registration number AW 5859 -12 while on duty at Kubease snap check point.

Sources close to nqanews.blogspot.com from rawgist.com narrate that the Lance Corporal and his colleagues had closed from duty and were carrying the barricades to a safe location nearby when the incident occurred.

They say a pick-up truck with the inscription “Vodafone” overtook the aforementioned vehicle and forced itself in front of the vehicle, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle, veer off the road and crush the policeman, killing him instantly.

The driver of the Vodafone pick-up which had severe dent at the back reportedly stopped for a while and suddenly sped off.
Police have since arrested the driver of the said vehicle who is currently assisting police with investigations.
The body of the policeman has since been deposited at Living Waters Hospital mortuary.
